KUALA LUMPUR – The National Security Council (NSC) today decided to end the conditional movement control order (CMCO) in Johor, Terengganu, Kedah and Melaka starting tomorrow, following a drop in Covid-19 cases in those states.
However, Kulim in Kedah will still be under CMCO given that the district still has a number of infections. Similarly, the districts of Kota Tinggi and Mersing in Johor are still under CMCO.
Areas that have the CMCO lifted will have to adhere to SOPs in place for the recovery MCO.
In Kelantan, however, the CMCO will start tomorrow until December 6.
Meanwhile, K Avenue and Megacity in Sabah will be put under an enhanced MCO (EMCO) following the detection of 110 Covid-19 cases there. The EMCO for Megacity will be in place until December 16.
“Based on the advice given by the Health Ministry, K Avenue will be put under an EMCO from November 22 to December 5. This EMCO will apply to their offices, employee quarters and construction sites,” Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said in his daily press briefing today.
He also announced the ending of the EMCO in Anjung Teduh Felda Sahabat in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
“The Health Ministry has screened 3,743 people and recorded 89 positive Covid-19 cases. After consultation with the ministry, we have decided that the EMCO in that area will end today.”
However, residents in Anjung Teduh will still have to abide by CMCO SOPs. – The Vibes, November 20, 2020
